We are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new website for the Twin Cities Gateway, a destination marketing organization promoting tourism in nine northern suburbs of Minneapolis/St. Paul. The new site definitely boasts a new, modern look, but the real beauty is in the back end features that make the site a much more powerful marketing tool for this unique travel market.
The new site features a robust item manager that allows us (W.A. Fisher and the client) to more effectively manage diverse listings ranging from events to restaurants, lodging properties and attractions.
The site incorporates cutting-edge, responsive programming, making it fully functional for desktop, tablet and smart phone users. Our analytics indicate that between 30 and 40% of users are accessing the site from mobile devices during the peak tourism season, so it was essential that the site work exceptionally well on these devices.
The client was looking for a flexible format that would allow them to feature various content such as lodging, events and things to do. We developed a new visually-appealing, photographic interface which can be easily edited to feature different content depending on seasonal or other marketing considerations. The featured links also have a clever mouse-over feature to give the user a preview of the content inside.
