The Shakopee CVB contacted us back in August about putting together a proposal for redesigning VisitShakopee.org. Their old site had major limitations on the updates that were able to be done, the events calendar did not work at all, plus they just weren’t happy with the look of the site.
One trip to Shakopee (oh yeah, we travel) and a few emails / phone calls later, we got started on this fun project. Using design cues from their already established print guide, we were able to come up with a fun, interactive design that will entice people to come to Shakopee for all of the attractions that they offer, then stay for the excellent lodging, dining and shopping opportunities the city has.
This website is built on the WordPress CMS, which gave us a lot of flexibility to create exactly what the client wanted. The site is also responsive, which makes it a perfect resource for the on-the-go traveler!
Sidebar: the client was originally hoping to launch the new site this spring but we were able to beat that deadline by a few months.
